Frankfort, Kentucky (AP) - A Kentucky ophthalmologist at a U.S. Senate campaign, said focused, he would run for the seat currently held by Jim Bunning.
Paul Rand R-Bowling Green ended months of speculation Wednesday when he told The Associated Press in an interview that he races in it. Paul told the Associated Press of his decision before a series of media events planned, including an appearance on the national television Tuesday night.
Paul had intended 77 years ago has Bunning announced last week that he would come to retire when his second term ends next year to begin.
Paul is the son of former presidential candidate Ron Paul, a congressman from Texas who ran in the Republican primary last year.
